The 1999 Crewe Do started off as something that might be worth trying to organize and snowballed from there. The whole thing was coordinated by Alex exile Graham Walker, after putting out initial feelers to gauge the level of interest from IFA teams, he went right ahead and sorted it all out. Having located a suitable venue in North London, with 2 available astro-turf pitches, he went about organizing the other details. It was decided that at a squeeze a 10 team tournament ( 2 groups of 5) could be held in a single day, with the winners and runners up in each group going into semi-finals and then a final.

A trophy was secured courtesy of Crewe Alexandra FC &  miscellaneous sponsorship was provided by ISP Easynet, this covered Referees fees, match balls, player of tournament trophy etc.

The first ten entering teams (9 really coz we had to enter a Motley Crewe team) were as follows:

West Ham Utd ( Internet Irons)
Charlton
Watford
Rangers
Celtic
Arsenal (Cybury Gooners)
Tottenham Hotspur
Reading (Internet Royals)
Colchester

These teams gathered in Islington on the Saturday morning and let battle commence.........
